Using EnergyReckonmeans agreeing to these terms. They're short because the site is simple: free reference content and a calculator, no accounts, no purchases made here.

Informational use only

Everything on this site — wattage figures, generator matches, guides, recommendations — is general reference information, not engineering, electrical, or medical advice. Appliance wattages are typical published figures; your equipment's nameplate and manual govern. Generator specifications and prices come from manufacturers and retailers and can change without notice. Verify anything that matters against the current datasheet before buying, and hire a licensed electrician for any work that touches your electrical panel.

Safety-critical decisions

Do not size backup power for life-support or medical equipment from this site alone — involve the equipment manufacturer and a licensed electrician. Follow your generator's manual, and the carbon-monoxide placement rules in our safety guide, which summarize but don't replace it.

No warranties; limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, EnergyReckon and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from use of the site or reliance on its content — including undersized generators, equipment damage, or losses during an outage.

Advertising

This site may display ads to help cover hosting and writing costs; it does not currently use affiliate links. The disclosure page has the current status and will be updated first if that changes.

Content ownership

The writing, calculator, and site design are ours. Quote excerpts with attribution and a link; don't republish pages wholesale. Manufacturer names and model names belong to their manufacturers and appear here for identification.

Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do. Continued use after a change is acceptance.
